We are two Sydney based occupational therapists who have worked in the area of driver assessment and rehab for over 20 years.  We have a shared passion for ensuring that OTs working in this field are supported to provide quality assessments resulting in optimal client outcomes.  In this complex and frequently changing area of practice it can be hard sometimes to “know what you don’t know” and even harder to know where to go to the get the knowledge and support that you need.
Our experience with driving assessments spans all diagnostic groups including dementia, TBI, amputees and SCI.  We have extensive knowledge of and experience in scripting a range of vehicle modifications from basic driving controls to wheelchair accessible vehicles and high level drive from wheelchair modifications.
We have been involved in training and supervision of OTs new to this field of practice.
